OUR TEACHERS AND LINEAGE

KQ Quiray is a dedicated practitioner of the Ashtanga Yoga method. She began practicing in 2007 and, with the encouragement and support of her teacher, Mozart Reina, made her first journey to Mysore, India, in 2016 to study with Paramaguru Sharath Jois at the Sharath Yoga Centre (formerly KPJAYI). In 2023, she was blessed by Sharath Jois to teach and remains committed to sharing the knowledge passed down to her.

In 2017, she founded Ashtanga Yoga QC—now Ashtanga Yoga Central—with the aim of sharing the practice and fostering a dedicated community.

For KQ, Ashtanga Yoga goes beyond the physical, offering a way to discipline the mind. It creates a space to observe thoughts with greater awareness. The clarity, emotional balance, and presence it brings keep her rooted in the practice.

Cha Tanunliong began her journey with Ashtanga Yoga in 2014 and has maintained a dedicated daily practice ever since. She studies consistently under the guidance of her teachers, Mozart Reina and Kq Quiray, whose mentorship continues to deepen her understanding of the practice.

In 2018, she made her first trip to Mysore, India to study at the source with Paramaguru Sharath Jois, returning again in 2023 and 2024 to continue learning in the traditional setting. Her devotion to the method is reflected not only in her own practice but also in her ongoing role assisting her teachers in their classes. Cha remains a committed student, always approaching the practice with humility, discipline, and gratitude.

Sheila Hinaut has been teaching yoga since 2017 and began practicing Ashtanga Yoga under Teacher KQ Quiray that same year. Her personal practice is rooted in the intention to cultivate a healthy, balanced life through consistent physical discipline. She also values the sense of belonging and shared growth that comes from practicing within a community.

She teaches regular group classes at The Yoga Shala Manila in Quezon City and maintains long-standing relationships with private students, offering thoughtful, individualized guidance.

Outside the studio, Sheila is an avid cyclist, runner, and writer. Her teaching is informed by these disciplines—grounded in rhythm, movement, and quiet reflection.
